Once I Dreamed I Was A Butterfly
Gunshots. The sound of an exploding grenade and the heat blasting out from its direction.
Countless screams from dying men. China ignored them all with skill gained from thousands of years worth of battles, focusing instead on the large red
and gold butterfly that had flitted into his field of vision. Briefly, he wondered how it had
managed to survive the chaos of the fight. Wings dancing with light and colour, the butterfly flew
erratic circles in front of him.
Another gunshot and explosion, closer by this time, he could feel it
singe the left side of his uniform. Still, China watched the butterfly with amber eyes enr
Do sunflowers weep for cold children
When all they see is snow
Does laughter reach their brethren
The thing that they forgo
Would fire burn with pity
For all the shivering forms
And smoke in its acridity
Bring safety from the thorns
Who can see the faces
Trapped underneath the ice
Where are all the traces
Of those who paid the price
How have we forgotten them
Those we would condemn

Cursed To Live Forever
Deep shadows curled around the figure's feet, soft and even gentle in their caress. Robes of the purest white clad a seemingly formless body and kept the darkness from swallowing the figure, the bright white contrasting with milky skin. There was a silver torc around its neck with two trees on either end of the opening, each tree with small emeralds embedded in it. The figure looked into the darkness beyond with stormy grey-green eyes that were filled with a soul crushingly suffocating sadness -not the kind of sadness you might feel when you learn that someone close to you has died, but the kind of sadness that comes with knowing the fact yea
Whispers hidden among thieves
Ripples in deep waters
Signalling what Fate weaves
Summoning the Morrigan's daughters
Ravens flying o'er forests dark tree
Wings beating to the steady drum
Of longboats near the sea
Doom incarnate set against the sun
Smoky plumes mark the landing
Invaders from the frozen north
Warriors on the hills are standing
Waiting to be called forth
Children of snowy tundra and green fells collide
The raven watches as the Fates decide
Bean Sidhe croons her wailing cry
Can you hear her? Is she near?
For Irish nobility soon will die
Hear the mournful song of the seer
Wraith of silvery demise
Brittle bones shake and shiver
Clad in misty white chemise
Come hither, come hither
Listen closely for her to crow
Is she chanting for a friend?
Or is she screaming at her foe?
Waiting ever for the very end
Ethereal harbinger of doom
The Bean Sidhe cries, for whom?
Winds blow shrilly, sadly
Over desert dune and flower
Wilted, they dance in passing motion
Sweet rain, giver of life pours
Over desert dune and flower
Swiftly evoking wondrous emotion
Brevity in glory passes
Over desert dune and flower
Bringing fleeting colourful devotion
Desert rains come no longer
Over desert dune and flower
Damning all to stark heat's corruption
Glaring light blinds the day
Over desert dune and flower
Gleaming golden seas of sand stretch out
New winds blow shrilly, sadly
Over desert dune and flower
Now wilted, they dance in passing motion.
